Koopa works as one of Bowser's troops, but that doesn't stop him from doing his own thing. He's actually quite friendly with the Mushroom Kingdom, it's just that business is business. If he has to defeat Mario, he'll try his best but he most likely won't succeed.
During the late stages of SMSC, he liked to record tapes noting his and the others journey across the universe, something he still does outside of the competition today. Tries his best to organise teams when nobody else is there to do it.
FUN FACTS
Koopa has been to and escaped from the Minus World.
Like Queta, he's good with preservation. Surprisingly though, he's never even heard of her.
Koopa's a good communications person too, usually taking the sights in instead of charging towards battle.
